We've been having a great Autumn term!
The children have loved our Welly Wednesday Walks.

Last half term we enjoyed harvesting our vegetables and fruit. We picked carrots, squash, beetroot and apples.

We loved trying the apples! Yum

This half term, we have enjoyed running and rolling down the hills, collecting leaves and sticks and splashing in the muddy puddles. Oh and not to forget... building houses for the 3 little pigs to live in.

We made a house of bricks. We huffed and we puffed, but we couldn't blow it down!.

We then made a leaf house, we huffed and we puffed, and we blew it down! yay!

We have been learning about the story of the 3 little pigs and the Gingerbread man this half term.

Summer Term

We loved our Nursery's Got Talent show last term. The children really enjoyed performing, their song choices included, Let it go, Barbie girl, Uptown Funk and many more.  See below for several of the videos.

The children had the opportunity to have some popcorn in the interval for their special treat. This was to say well done for getting all of the spots on their Giraffe and feathers on their Parrot.

This term we have been learning about growing. We have been growing cress and grass. We have loved watering the plants and watching them grow.

Here are also several pictures from our Street Party, in aid of the Queen's 90th birthday. What a wet day! We definitely embraced the British weather.

We are very excited about our upcoming events, including the Summer fair and Summer picnic. We hope you all enjoy the rest of the summer term, let's hope the sun keeps shining!

Look what we have been doing...

What a great summer term we have in Nursery so far.  We really enjoyed our Well-being day with the Reception children.

The children had the opportunity to do a range of activities including, yoga, peer massage, trying different fruits, using the parachute and listening to calm music. We all felt very relaxed!
Here are several photos from the day:

The children once again have loved our Welly Wednesday walks. What strange weather we have had!

The children enjoyed splashing in the muddy puddles and going under the blossom showers. We love seeing the big smiles on the children's faces...

Our theme last week was the circus. We showed the children clips and pictures of inside circus'. We discussed with the children who works there and some of the children decided to represent this through their play, becoming acrobats and entertainers. The children decided to make a tightrope using the equipment.
What a great idea!

We are continuing with this theme this week. We are also encouraging the children to think about what they are good at and enjoy doing. We are hoping to do a 'Nursery's Got Talent' show on Friday to showcase all their fantastic skills. We wonder who might become the next Simon Cowe?

Below are several websites we have been using in Nursery which you may find useful to access at home with the children. We love Squigglet!

Exciting times in Nursery

We are really looking forward to Sport Relief next Friday. The children will have the opportunity to dance in the hall to the 'Step it Up for Sport Relief' song. Here is the link below in case you want to practice your dance moves at home in preparation for it!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsIIv3mSUoo

The children will also have the chance to run, jog or walk laps around the field. Can children please come wearing their sports clothes, including trainers and tracksuits. We are looking for the next Usain Bolt!!!

We have our Easter hat competition coming up, we ask that the children bring in their decorated hat to school on Thursday 24th March 2016. Please write your child's name and class on their hat. The hats will then be awarded. We have noticed there are lots of Easter craft materials, including hats in Poundland and Poundworld.

Following the children's interest in our farm animals, we are hoping to get two baby guinea pigs for the children to care for. The children are very excited and so are we. If any parents would be willing to help look after our pets over the weekend/ holidays, please speak to a member of staff.

Thank you for your continued support,

The Nursery Team.

World Book Day

Last week for World Book day we had two very special visitors in... they were story tellers. They even brought their own magical tent for us all to go in!
The story tellers read a variety of books to the children, they were brilliant at doing the different voices. The children's favourite book was all about pants!

Here's a few picture from the day:

Happy New Year!

Welcome back everyone we hope you had a brilliant Christmas and New Year. We would firstly like to say a BIG thank you for all your support with our winter fair last term. It was a huge success and everyone seemed to really enjoy it.

We've had a lovely start to our term...
last week we looked at the story of Goldilocks and the three bears, and the children had the opportunity to try some porridge.
They decided that they liked their porridge just right... not too hot or too cold!

Next week is our Spanish week, we are hoping to bring in a variety of food for the children to try. We can't wait!

We have also been enjoying our walks on welly Wednesdays. Last week we even had two special guests joining us…. Mrs Slack and Mrs Kelly! They dug out their wellies and joined in the fun. They loved seeing the big smiles on the children’s faces.

They even ran down the hill with the children!

So it feels like winter is finally here! The children have loved playing outside, using the sledges and exploring the ice. We just need a bit more snow now.

Please do not forget to bring in hats, mittens and scarves so the children can wrap up warm.

Many thanks for your continued support,
the Nursery Team.
